Anonymous asked: Ok, here's a weird question. What are the relationships like at Bennington? Are there a significant amount of couples? I'm curious because I imagine with the field work term and how focused everyone is on their work it may be difficult having a significant other. This is weird. sorry...

Anonymous asked: This question is specifically for Kate. I noticed that you're a vegan and love to cook/bake, which is exactly like me! I was just wondering if there are nearby Whole Foods, if you're studying something that relates to food at Bennington, and if you recommend cooking over a meal plan. Also, do you often cook for your housemates and leave lots of food around! Thanks so much!

How easy is it to get transportation to Amherst...
I’d say getting to Albany is relatively easy, there are good people on this campus who will drive you there for gas money or you can bribe them with McDonald’s and/or Crossett library paraphernalia. There are also shuttles that travel to Albany that are run by the Office of Student Life throughout the term on Thursdays and Fridays and most days during major travel periods. (end of...

Anonymous asked: I heard the BA/MAT program just got cut, a major bummer for me. Are there any other avenues to obtain elementaryteacher certification from Benn? Does this mean that teachers from Creative Teaching for undergraduates are getting cut as well?

Anonymous asked: My HS is really, really diverse. I mean, we have students from all over the world and there are almost 75 countries represented. Bennington's statistics in terms of diversity ore pretty low- what's that like?

Anonymous asked: Hi there! I got accepted to Bennington EA (yay!!!) and I'm pretty sure (like 90%) that I want to go to Med School after undergrad. I know you have a fabulous postbac program, but what is being a pre-med student like as an undergrad?

Anonymous asked: What is the latest you've ever heard of a regular decision letter reaching its recipient? I'm anxious, if you couldn't tell! Trying to be patient, but it's a nerve wracking experience. Also, were CSS Financial Aid profiles required to be submitted to receive an admissions decision?

Anonymous asked: on top of the many reasons that i love benn, i love it because its so musically oriented and involved (right?) i've been involved in music and playing my instrument since 4th grade (im in 11th now) anyways, i dont plan on pursuing a carreer in music but i certainly don't want to lose it completely, since it's basically been my life for 7 years. suggestions on how to do this at benn?

Anonymous asked: Bennington College, I feel nostalgic about a place I have never visited. I hope that my application will not be a shout into the void.

Anonymous asked: How would you recommend that I get in contact with Bennington students and counselors? Up until this moment, I have been emailing to no avail and the counselors do not return my calls. I would like a simple information session please. Your school rocks. I really want to attend it! I even plan to dedicate my entire senior year planning to go!

This I Believe Feature →
Some remnants of my work at This I Believe this Field Work Term. This feature on the Peace Corps was one that I curated - so to speak. It’s a collection of essays written about lessons learned from time spent in the service of others. - jason
