The pond does freeze (along with everything else up here in the Winter months) though I can’t recall ever seeing anyone go skating on it… You could certainly be the first to try! Some quick googling reveals that ice should be at least four inches thick for safe skating and ice fishing (or less than four inches for unsafe skating and ice fishing) but significantly thicker if you intend on taking a snowmobile, ATV or truck onto the ice.
If that’s not your cup of tea, more googling reveals that there are a number of rinks nearby, the closest being in Williamstown. One would assume, however, that ice fishing is not possible at these locations. Bummer.
