Ok, so I LOVE Bennington, but I heard that it doesn't attract students of wide-ranging academic interests. More specifically, that students go there mainly for such specific departments (theatre, music, and art for an example), that there isn't a lot of diversity in that sense. What is your personal opinion(s)? — Asked by Anonymous

I’ve found quite the opposite to be the case. In fact, the entire academic system is structured in such a way as to encourage students to experience a wide range of disciplines. You can think of it as a sort of liberal arts buffet - take whatever makes sense for you. In my case, I focus in political science and philosophy, but I’ve also taken courses in music, literature, and sound design. Next term I’m even taking an acting course. Because we all have different Plans, this collection of courses probably wouldn’t make sense for anyone else but me - so a lot of the fun is in finding the connections between different disciplines that intrigue you.
