How easy is it to get transportation to Amherst and Albany?

I’d say getting to Albany is relatively easy, there are good people on this campus who will drive you there for gas money or you can bribe them with McDonald’s and/or Crossett library paraphernalia.

There are also shuttles that travel to Albany that are run by the Office of Student Life throughout the term on Thursdays and Fridays and most days during major travel periods. (end of term, long weekends, thanksgiving).

Less known is the Yankee Trails Bus that leaves from Downtown Bennington. $4 and 2 hours later, you’re in Albany!

I’m less well versed in Travel to Amherst. Albany is usually our major transit point. I’ll say that having access to a car and friends with cars are big advantages.
