Loud courtesy houses?
Hey!
I just wanted to give a quick clarification of what a loud courtesy house could be. All we mean by courtesy house is that the house community will always come together at the beginning of the term to set ground rules and are consistently aware of communal living throughout the term. My house, Swan, is a “loud courtesy house” but we decided at the beginning of term that there really shouldn’t be any loud music or ruckus past midnight Monday - Thursday. Weekends are pretty much free game, but it’s always okay to stop by a room and tell them to keep it down. There are distinctions between houses like Rachel mentioned, but every house is different year to year depending on what the residents decide.
I would also add that the other big distinction is that typically houses that are classified as having “extended quiet hours” do not throw campus wide dance parties like the other houses.
Hope that helps!
