Every time I work with my Field Work Term advisor, Amy Chaplin, I feel elated. I love the work we’ve been doing together, especially because Amy has a great, positive attitude.
Amy is a vegetarian chef in NYC, who teaches private cooking classes, prepares food for clients, and blogs. So far we have been working on her blog (linking posts, sizing images, and adding new recipes), cooking for clients- the awesome part, and designing and writing her newsletter.
Yesterday we worked for hours on her newsletter to get the design and content just right. I think it looks pretty impressive so far, and the newsletter we worked on yesterday will go out this Friday. If you want to see what I’ve been working on, you can sign up for her newsletter and receive her pantry essentials list here.
For lunch we had squash, parsnips, quinoa, delicious avocado, and kimchee. We also had 3 cups of tea to power us through the day.

Field Work Term 2012 (pumpkin bread photo taken by Amy Chaplin)
As the end of term is approaching, my excitement for Field Work Term is building.
This FWT I will work with a vegetarian chef, Amy Chaplin, in New York City. She worked as the executive chef in one of my favorite restaurants in NYC (Angelica Kitchen), and now she develops recipes, teaches, and cooks for private clients.
Some of my tasks will include photographing food, working on her blog and social media outlets, and preparing recipes. This will hopefully be a great combination of my passions and areas of study with some yummy food to taste :)
I will be blogging during FWT all about this experience, so stay tuned!
