Tomorrow, the Bennington Radio Project hosts Thread - an event where students, staff, and faculty tell true stories live, onstage, and without notes. The theme of this upcoming Thread is Everyone You Need Is Here (at Bennington). Stories of your bright and shiny people.
The theme was derived from last year’s Commencement address by Peter Dinklage ‘91.
If you happen to be around, don’t hesitate to stop by.

Tonight the Bennington Radio Project is hosting a Thread event. Thread is a storytelling event in which personal stories are told onstage without notes on a theme. The theme tonight is Coming of Age, so the stories will all centered around that topic. We have three storytellers, Kitty Brazelton, Vivian Robbins, and Andrew Plimpton, and the rest of the storytellers will be drawn from a fishbowl, where audience members can add their name if the want the chance to tell a story.
We will be recording the stories from tonight will they be on our website eventually. Some stories from past events are on our website here

[Part 12 of the Posters at Bennington Series]
One of the most common questions I’m asked on tours is “What is there to do at Bennington?” I know that before I came here I couldn’t for the life of me imagine what one would do all day at a small liberal arts school in Vermont. But when I visited campus I realized that everywhere I looked, the walls were plastered with posters advertising clubs, performances, discussions, lectures, films, and more.
So I thought, for those of you who can’t visit campus just yet, that I’d start a weekly series where I showcase some of the posters around campus over the past year or two. All photo credits go to the folks behind the Bennington College Flickr!

On behalf of Jason and myself, thank you for liking our podcast!
We’re working on a new one this weekend!

Next Thursday my friend Jason and I (AKA the Bennington Radio Project) are hosting Thread, our semi-regular storytelling night. Students, professors, administrators, and staff are invited to tell true stories on a theme (this time it’s “Why Me?”) All stories are live and told without notes and it is always impressive how many great storytellers there are on campus!
Note: The poster is hard to read because I had to resize it and the highlighted section looks funny scanned. But this is as artistic as I get and I’m proud of it!

Just finished covering campus with these guys (created by the lovely Ellie Shenker). Putting up posters can be exhausting. But it also gives me a chance to go through some of the spaces on campus that I wouldn’t otherwise. Also, I’m now an expert at finding the end of the tape.

These photos are from the recently held Thread storytelling event. It’s part of a project that myself and Ellie Shenker 12’ started last year to produce public radio- style content. At Thread, we invite students/faculty/staff to come tell true stories live on a theme. The theme for this Thread was ‘In Transit.’
