I think my favorite part of Bennington College is the small community. We all live in houses, which have kitchens and common rooms, and many of the houses have fireplaces. I run into my housemates constantly, which establishes a really warm atmosphere in the house, and that follows me through my day. It’s so nice after a long day (I have 8 hours of classes on Mondays and Thursdays) to sit in the common room in front of the fire with my housemates talking about our days, what we’re doing in our free time, or what tea we want that evening.

One of my favorite things about Bennington is having the ability to design my own plan of study. The Plan process (our academic structure) enables us to develop inquiries around the questions that matter the most to us. Faculty advising is really important to this process. We all have advisors that we meet with during our time here. In general, faculty are really open to meeting with students outside of class time to talk.
