hi folks! I'm not sure if anything can be done about this, but I wanted to reach out to you and find out. I live in Upper Manhattan and was fortunate not to lose power this week, but I have several friends who have been working very hard on their submissions for your Young Writers Contest who are unable to submit. It's actually an extremely widespread issue on the east coast right now. If you would consider extending the deadline in the interest of fairness, I know many people who'd be grateful.

I’m glad to hear you made it out okay and with power. I have good news for you- the deadline has been extended to November 8th (that’s next Thursday) to accommodate those impacted by the storm. I wish all the best to your friends and their families in the repair efforts.
